Application Scientist POSITION SUMMARY This position provides clinical and research customer technical support for our products. Key responsibilities include supporting existing products through application development, supporting customer evaluations during the sales process, managing technical collaborations, and support of customer training. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Executes bench experiments to validate products and applications Designs and conducts experiments to assist in customer evaluations of products Troubleshoots and resolves challenging histology, IHC, ISH, and molecular biology applications and /or customer issues Conducts in-service training sessions for customers Conducts in-service training sessions for company personnel Presents technical information in poster and/or workshop formats Works as a team member in a matrix organization MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Formal Training/Education: BS in Biology, Molecular Biology or related field. Current certification and credentials with National Society of Histotechnologists (NSH) in Immunohistochemistry preferred. Experience: Minimum of four years experience in histology and IHC and/or molecular/cell biology techniques or relevant systems and reagents experience. Prior bench experience mandatory with technical support or applications support experience strongly desired. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prepare and present information to groups. Understanding of project management techniques and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to read and analyze professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
